The Royal Tank Museum Participated in SOFEX 2024
The Royal Tank Museum participated in the Special Operations Forces Exhibition and Conference (SOFEX 2024), which was held in the city of Aqaba from September 3–5, 2024. The event is recognized as one of the world’s premier exhibitions in the defense and security sectors. During the exhibition, the museum showcased Jordan’s contributions to the defense industry by presenting an original collection of historic Jordanian military vehicles. These exhibits reflected key milestones in the evolution of the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army, and highlighted the country’s advancement in armored military capabilities. Visitors to the museum’s booth enjoyed a unique experience, which included rare armored vehicles such as the iconic Rolls-Royce Armored Car and the one-of-a-kind Ford Model T, both used during the Great Arab Revolt, 1916. The museum also displayed four additional vehicles that documented the development of Armor in the Jordan Armed Forces; Marmon-Herrington, Alvis Saladin, Humber Armored Car, and a Willys Jeep equipped with a 106 mm recoilless rifle. The Director General of the museum, Mr. Nark Sejaja, emphasized the vital educational role the museum plays in preserving and presenting military history to younger generations. He noted that participation in events like SOFEX helps foster national pride and inspires visitors to engage with Jordan’s rich military heritage.
